It's all change at Margate Town Partnership
Margate Town Partnership (MTP), which is responsible for the Kite Festival, Quad Bike Racing and the Jazz Festival, has announced some changes at the organisation.
After many successful years as co-ordinator, Dave Kinnear has decided to move on. Dave is a familiar face in the business community, and has worked tirelessly for Margate since he took up the post. He provided invaluable support to local businesses, delivered a series of high-quality events to the town, and provided a firm foundation for the MTP’s future.
The MTP board is also changing. Outgoing chairman Ann Smith, of Smith’s Court Hotel, and treasurer Steve Davis, of Thanet Leisureforce, can look back with pride at what they have achieved.
The kite festival has become a firm fixture on the calendar of world-class kite-flyers and always brings large crowds to the town. Likewise, the quad bike racing is always popular and has really put Margate on the map. The jazz festival is a very special event, which is helping to establish Margate as a satellite of London for high-quality jazz.
MTP has also become the one-stop-shop for ongoing support and advice to local traders.
The outgoing board members will be replaced by a new team at their forthcoming public annual meeting, details of which will be publicised as soon as they are available.
MTP will carry on offering support to local businesses and delivering its popular events, but has decided to relocate from its office in the Market Place and operate from a new office in the spring.

Who are we?
Margate Town Partnership is an active organisation which exists for the benefit of all who live and work in the town. Our 9 executive board members are from many different aspects of local life, both public and private sector, and invest their time voluntarily.
What do we do?
Our aim is to help Margate to grow as a cultural, leisure and business centre by facilitating interaction between public, business and community sectors.
How do we do it?
Margate Town Partnership is very successful in bringing visitors to Margate through its ‘Big Sky’ Events. These celebrations - Jazz Festival, International Kite Festival, and Quad Bike Event - have become key events in Margate’s calendar.
